    Westside is proud of our own Christina Smith and extends congratulations to all of the Al Lucas Scholarship recipients from Bibb County High Schools!  Students shown being recognized at a ceremony April 27 at the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame.

    Dr. Daniely Receives “Joe Richardson Award”

    The Principals Center at Georgia State University has selected Dr. Julia Daniely as the recipient of this year’s “Joe Richardson Award” for her outstanding work as principal of Westside High School.  Dr. Daniely will be recognized at an awards ceremony on May 3 at The Carter Presidential Center.

  • Progress Reports April 27

    Progress Reports will be given to students Wednesday, April 27.  Parents please check to be sure your student is on track!  Noles Nation will be providing after school sessions every Tuesday and Thursday PLUS Saturday School sessions on April 30 and May 7 + 14 + 21.

    Seniors enrolled in British Literature are required to assemble and present a Senior Portfolio as part of the final grade.

  • Cell Phone Policy

    • Students may use phones before school, during the student's assigned lunch, and after school. 
    • All other times, including during transitions, the student's phone should be out of sight.  Visible phones will be collected. 
    • Using computer USB ports or wall sockets to charge student phones is not permitted. Phones being charged will be collected.
    • Collected phones will be secured.  Students may recover phones after school dismissal the following Monday.

  • Dr. Daniely Selected for GASSP Board of Directors

    Congratulations to Dr. Julia Daniely, who has been selected to serve on the Board of Directors for GASSP (Georgia Association of Secondary School Principals).  Dr. Daniely will represent these Central Georgia counties: Baldwin, Bibb, Crawford, Hancock, Houston, Jones, Lamar, Monroe, Peach, Putnam, Twiggs, Upson, Washington, and Wilkinson.  This recognition follows an earlier announcement honoring Dr. Daniely as one of the 2015-16 GASSP Finalists for Georgia Principal of the Year.

  • Westside Continues as "AP STEM Honor School"

    Westside maintains the STEM focus and continues for another year on the list of "AP STEM Honor Schools" as announced this week by State School Superintendent Richard Woods. "AP STEM Honor School" recognition requires students testing in at least two AP math courses and two AP science courses.
