    2012 Spelling Bee
     
    Spelling Bee Champs
     
     
    The annual Porter Spelling Bee was held on Thursday, January 12th.  Justin Giddens from Mrs. Wilson's class was the winner and Colleen Molton from Mrs. Montford's class was the runner-up.  Justin will now compete in the county-wide spelling bee which will be held at Central High School on Saturday, January 28th at 9:30 AM.  Other participates in the Porter Spelling Bee were Alexis Eaton, Katelyn Ferringer, Brian Gales, Tyler Lore, Jennifer Menoza, Kamryn McElmurray, Julya Parker, Savannah Polk, Nicholas Portera, Charlie Renfroe, Taylor Sapp, and Cameron West.  The spelling bee sponsor is Mrs. Gail Willis, 4th grade teacher.

  • Porter Named Distinquished School
    On June 19, 2011, the Georgia Department of Education and Governor's Office of Student Achievement announced the Bibb County Schools that made AYP (after the first determination) for the 2010-2011 school year.  Porter Elementary is included on this list and has met the criteria (standardized test scores, test participation, and attendance) for achieving AYP.  This is the 9th consecutive year that Porter Elementary has met AYP.  Schools earn the title of Distinquished School for making AYP three or more consecutive years.  WAY TO GO PANTHERS!
