Alisha Allen-Carter joined the Superintendent's Leadership Team from Rutland High School where she served as a Literacy Coach. She was born in Louin, Miss., and attended Bay Springs High School in Bay Springs, Miss.
She received a Bachelor of Arts from Alcorn State University in Lorman, Miss., and a Master of Arts in English Education from William Carey College in Hattiesburg, Miss. Mrs. Allen-Carter also graduated from Mississippi State University in Meridian, Miss., with a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership and an Education Specialist degree in Secondary Education.
Prior to joining the District, she taught English and Language Arts in West Jasper and East Jasper County School Districts and the Meridian Public School District in Mississippi. She also served as a Literacy Coach in Clayton County Public Schools.
