Northeast parents, teachers, and students are enthusiastic about the many innovative ideas Mr. Jones has planned for Northeast. Mr. Jones believes motivation and positive reinforcement, such as the “High Five” Award system, which rewards students for positive behavior, are key components of a culture and climate conducive for excellence.
Mr. Jones is a family man fully invested in the Bibb County School System. His wife, Dr. Danielle Jones, serves the Bibb County School District, and his daughter, Kennedi, is a student at Heritage Elementary.
Mr. Jones graduated from Albany State University with a Bachelors of Education in Health, Physical Education. He then went on to earn a Master’s Degree from Georgia College & State University in the area Leadership. He is currently pursuing a Doctoral Degree. Mr. Jones is currently pursuing a a degree in School Improvement from the State University of West Georgia. Jones is also a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
This path led Mr. Jones to the Bibb County School District where he has served as Teacher, Assistant Principal, and Principal. He has been Principal of Williams Elementary, Miller Middle School, Appling Middle School, and now Northeast Health Science Magnet High School. His experience at all levels of education makes him an asset not only to Northeast, but the Eastside Zone, where our theme is “…chosen to epitomize excellence across the river!”
Mr. Jones has a vision that all Northeast Students will actively seek opportunities to become college and career ready through all human resources and opportunities. There are no limits to what Northeast students can achieve under the leadership of Steven Jones.
