Welcome!
First...I’d like to wish Dr. Linda Bivins much happiness and success as she steps down from a distinguished career in education to enjoy a well deserved retirement.
My name is Mrs. Cynthia Canova, and, as your new principal, I thought you might be interested to learn a little about me.
With an undergraduate degree in Music Education from the University of Tulsa (Tulsa,OK) and a Masters in School Administration from Lincoln Memorial University (Harrogate, TN), I consider my 30 years in education to have been a successful adventure so far. Having served children of all ages from across 3 states, my students have become state champions, scholarship recipients, professional musicians, doctors, lawyers, teachers, homemakers, and enjoyed a host of other successful careers.
Relocating to Macon has been a recent move to join my new husband who has worked as a Chemical Engineer in the area for over 16 years. I have two grown sons – the eldest, 27, is a veteran of the US Navy living in Tulsa, OK. My youngest, 25, holds a degree in Medical Molecular Biology, and is currently living in Asheville, NC. In addition, I have two beautiful, step-daughters who live in the Gray area – one in college and the other, a senior in high school.
Alexander II has quite a history of excellence, and my expectations for each of you are high. Be in attendance everyday, be on time, come prepared, work hard, and push yourself to achieve your personal best each day. Don’t be discouraged by difficult tasks, but use them as opportunities to find creative solutions – to learn and grow. With a “can-do” attitude and working hand-in-hand…students, parents, and staff…you will grow to realize the potential within.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve Alexander II. It’s going be a great adventure!
Respectfully,
Cindy Canova, Principal
