Originally from Dublin, GA, Dr. Duke graduated with a B.A. in English from Georgia College and State University. She also holds M.Ed. and Ed.S. degrees in Educational Leadership from Georgia College & State University and Columbus State University. She earned an Ed.D. in Curriculum Studies at Georgia Southern University. Her dissertation research focused on literacy strategies and empowering teachers to improve instruction. Before coming to Bibb County in 2005 as Assistant Principal at Springdale, she taught and coached in Houston County. A Language Arts teacher, she enjoyed teaching Shakespeare and the writing process.  The 2012-2013 school year is Dr. Duke's seventh year as Principal at Springdale Elementary.  She is married to Brad Duke and they have three children.
