Quiz Bowl

     McKibben Lane students are encouraged to participate in healthy competitive situations which require them to maximize efforts in the academic areas. Fourth and Fifth grade students compete in the Bibb County Quiz Bowl Competition.  We have tryouts in the fall.

  • Our team meets once a week on Thursdays from 3:45-4:45 in Mrs. Etheridge's room.
  • The students learn new information in all of the subject areas, as well as mythology, geography, economics, physical science, literature, etc.
  • Interested students need to be very devoted to this team. It takes a lot of extra studying.
  • These students are coached by Mrs. Etheridge in the months prior to the competitions, primarily after regular school hours. Competitions such as these require a serious commitment on the part of each student, however, the benefits are incredible. Lane has been very successful at the district and state levels in recent competitions!
