Welcome to the
Miller- Lanier-Central Alumni Information Page
The school began in 1913 as co-ed Lanier High School. The school was then located on Forsyth Street in downtown Macon. In 1924, Sidney Lanier Senior High School for boys was opened on Holt Avenue followed by A.L. Miller Senior High School for Girls in 1932 on Montpellier Avenue. After a tragic fire in 1967, and desegregation in 1970, Lanier and Miller were merged into Central High School. Central maintains the "We Lead" traditions of Lanier and Miller through JROTC, a wide range of athletics opportunities, and an award winning International Baccalaureate Program and Fine Arts magnet program. Students at Central participate in community service and other extracurricular opportunities.
Miller-Lanier-Central has a long history of outstanding graduates who have gone one to become CEO's of companies, doctors, lawyers, astronauts and so much more. The new Central High School IB/ Fine Arts Magnet opened in August of 2009 continuing a long history of excellence.
