Joseph Creech - Honorary Firefighter
Howard High Student, Joseph Creech, recently assisted in putting out a car fire. This incident happened in his neighborhood. His quick response led him to run into his house to get a fire extinguisher. The car was occupied at the time, but thanks to his quick response, nobody was injured. This past Sunday a group of Bibb County firefighters, in full dress uniform, along with two firetrucks, came to Joseph's church and awarded him with a certificate :
"Due to the Brave and Courageous Acts of Heroism shown, the Macon-Bibb County Fire Department hereby confers upon Joseph Creech the award of Honorary Firefighter".
We here at Howard High School are so proud of Joseph for this heroic act!
The Howard High School and Howard Middle School orchestras had an outstanding concert last night. More students than ever before are involved in these programs, and the crowd was standing-room-only.
This morning on the Kenny B & Charles E Show on News Talk 940, Fox 24, ABC 16 and Macon.com, Kenny talked about this concert as being something very positive for the Bibb County School system, in general, and Howard, in particular.
The High School Orchestra performed “Autumn’s Dream,” an original composition by a former student of John Sweat's Robert Walker (Westside Graduate). Mr. Walker was in the audience. Kenny B played the recording of this song from the concert twice during the program.
