Curriculum Vita
Mr. Noel graduated Cum Laude from Bethune-Cookman University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science. He later graduated with high honors from the Fischler Graduate School of Education and Human Services at Nova Southeastern University with a Master of Science Degree in Curriculum, Instruction and Technology. He then went on to graduate with honors from Florida Atlantic University with a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership (K-12), all levels. Joseph Noel is E.S.O.L endorsed through the Broward School District. He also holds a Professional Certification in Social Science, Political Science, and Education Leadership (K-12) from the State of Florida as well as the State of Georgia.
As a soldier in the Desert Storm conflict, Mr. Noel had time to study the similarities and differences that characterize Western and Middle Eastern cultures. His background as a United States Citizen of Caribbean/Haitian descent, and his knowledge of different languages was a starting point for his thinking and leadership as an educator. Today, Mr. Noel offers a wide range of insights to his colleagues, students, and parents, resulting in a deeper understanding of how to engage individuals, increase student achievement for all, and move a school from good to great. Joseph Noel believes that quality instruction, job imbedded professional development, and understanding as well as using data to drive instruction is the key to student and school success.
At Fort Lauderdale High School, Mr. Noel served as the faculty chair and taught AP & Honors World History, International Relations, Global Studies, Civics, Government/Economics and ESOL. When not in the classroom, he coached varsity football, track, and soccer. At Palm Beach State College and Palm Beach Lakes Community High School he was the Magnet Program Coordinator as well as the Department Chairman for the Pre-Law, Pre-Med, Marine Sciences, and Teacher Academy. As coordinator his responsibilities included the recruitment of students, teachers, as well as the management of the four magnet programs. In addition, Mr. Noel served as Palm Beach State College adjunct professor for the Magnet Teacher Academy Program. He taught college dual enrollment courses such as, Introduction to Education, Educational Technology, Diversity in Education, College Success, and Advanced Placement Psychology. He supervised over 30 student teachers each year as well as coordinated the placement of those students in classrooms within the district. In addition, he is certified to teach all Advanced Placement courses in Social Science and helped design the online AP Economics assessments for Florida Virtual School (FLVS). Mr. Noel also served as a gifted/regular education teacher, Social Studies Department Chair, and Data Coach at Dan McCarty Middle School (grades 3-8). At Lincoln Park Academy IB (grades 6-12) and Fort Pierce Westwood High School, Joseph served as an Assistant Principal/Advanced Placement Coordinator.
Joseph Noel experience spans over 18 years of service to children and families. He comes to us as a highly qualified educator and instructional leader. His achievements include serving as a College Board Advanced Placement Consultant, Educational Testing Service (ETS) Essay Exam Score and table leader for over seven years. But perhaps one of his most rewarding teaching assignment was helping his mother learn to read and speak in English. After serving as the Assessment Coordinator/Program Manager for Test Administration and Data Analysis for a school district in Florida, Mr. Noel joins us as Howard Middle School Assistant Principal.
