I am so excited to be back at Heritage Elementary School this year. I have taught students with special needs for ten years in Bibb County. This is my sixth year at Heritage Elementary School but the previous years have been spent in fifth grade. Last year I was able to split my time between the third and fifth grade inclusion classrooms.  I am excited this year to stay in third grade and begin teaching our new Common Core standards for Reading/Language Arts and Math. The students and I are going to have an outstanding school year.
I would like to share a few things about myself. I made a midlife career change and earned my undergraduate degree in Specific Learning Disabilities and my Masters degree in Holistic Education at Mercer University. I received my Interrelated certificate at the University of Georgia.
Heritage Elementary School has the BEST students in Bibb County and I am looking forward to another excellent school year as all the third grade teachers instruct and interact with all our wonderful and unique students. We have so many exciting concepts to teach and we can't wait to share them with your child.

We are currently reading the book, Paul Revere  and working on types of graphs in math. After discussing heat,, we will learn  about heat energy and magnets in Science and Paul Revere in Social Studies.  We meet every Thursday from 1:30-2:00 p.m. for Mandarin Chinese instruction.

Please make sure your child arrives on time daily and please check his/her planner daily for homework/project assignments. Our newsletter goes home every Monday full of information of the upcoming week including weekly spelling & vocabulary words.
