MULTIMEDIA - SPANISH - WRITING
Welcome to Burdell-Hunt Magnet School website. This website provides information about Burdell-Hunt Magnet's program.
   The primary focus of Burdell-Hunt Magnet School is the academic achievement of our students. We are dedicated to providing a quality education for our students in a safe and positive learning environment and effective instruction in every classroom.
   The mission of Burdell-Hunt Magnet School is to integrate our magnet focus of multimedia, Spanish and writing into the basic curriculum in order to produce responsible citizens who are proficient in communications and problem solving.
   As part of the multimedia focus, we have a state of the art morning broadcast team which is fully produced by the students. Through the focus on communicative arts Burdell-Hunt students continuously excel in writing. 
   Burdell-Hunt was recognized in the Fall of 2007 as a Title I Distinguished School for the fifth year. The Educational Technology Training Center committee selected Burdell-Hunt Magnet School as the "Spotlight School" in the Middle Georgia area for a Capital Tech presentation in January 2006. Burdell-Hunt is also proud to have been the first recipient of the Bibb County Readers Cup in 2006.
   Burdell-Hunt Magnet School is located in historic East-Macon, the birthplace of the city. Burdell-Hunt was established in August of 2003 when M.M. Burdell Elementary School and H. A. Hunt Elementary School were combined due to low student enrollment. As a beacon in the historic Fort Hill Community, Burdell-Hunt provides a rich opportunity for students to experience a traditional and specialized curriculum.
   Burdell-Hunt Magnet School strives for academic excellence. Our qualified, dedicated and caring staff provides a nurturing environment that encourages creativity and thinking skills among students.
