According to Cox Communications, if a customer currently subscribes to digital cable, there will be no change.

If a customer does not have digital cable, they will need either a digital tuner ready television or a digital box to access the station. Cox customers who do not have either of these may request a courtesy digital box from October 19 through December 31, 2011.

What is a Digital Tuner Ready TV?

A:
QAM tuner is a device present in some digital televisions and similar devices which enables free reception of digital cable channels without the use of a set-top digital box. The majority of U.S. televisions sold after 2006 include a QAM tuner.

How do I set up a QAM tuner to tune to Channel 17 after October 17?

1) Open the television’s auto program feature in the setup menu.

2) The television’s tuner will automatically pick up both the analog and digital signal and then assign it the corresponding channel number.

3) If the television’s remote has a decimal point button, the customer can also directly tune to these channels by punching in the channel numbers.*

*Note: You will need to use the remote that came with your television, not the Cox remote, to access channel 93.1.
