 Born under a bad sign in Chicago, Illinois, in 1963, Mark Holmes has been around the block more times than he cares to remember.  He served eight honorable years in the U.S.A.F. during which time he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Vocational Education from Southern Illinois University (go Salukis!).  Due to still unexplained circumstances, he found his way to Georgia in 1989.  He continued his education at Georgia College and State University (go Bobcats!), earning a Master's Degree in Science Education in 1996.  He put in ten long years at Miller Middle School (go Mustangs!) before coming to Westside High School (go Seminoles!) in 2000.
He is currently teaching Anatomy & Physiology, Physics, and Forensic Science, but has been known to teach Biology as well.
As of January 29, 2011 he is exceedingly happily married to a brilliant and snazzy lady.
