Welcome

Dr. Duke
Congratulations to Dr. Amy Duke for being named Georgia's 2013 National Distinguished Principal by the Georgia Association of Elementary School Principals (GAESP), the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP), and the US Department of Education. The surprise announcement came during a staff meeting at Springdale Wednesday, May 15, when GAESP Executive Director Hal Beaver presented Dr. Duke with the award. In November, Dr. Duke will travel to Washington, D.C. for an awards ceremony at the White House. "There are a lot of great principals in this state and a lot of great principals here in Bibb County, and for them to choose me to represent them in this way is just a huge honor," Dr.Duke said. "Really it's about the staff here at Springdale. We have an amazing group of teachers and staff members  ‐ they're very hard workers and so the credit goes to them. You can't be a great principal without a great staff and great students and supportive parents." Dr. Duke has been principal at Springdale since 2006.

About Our School

Springdale serves approximately 685 students in grades PreK through five. The campus is nestled in a woodsy, well-established, safe community in north Bibb County. Many realtors speak of Springdale as an asset when selling a home in the district. Recently, our school was completely renovated with the addition of eight new classrooms, a new roof, and 21st century technology in every classroom.

Our teaching staff is highly qualified with an average of 15 years of experience in the classroom. 62% of our faculty hold advanced graduate degrees. Cutting edge technology, highly-qualified teachers, and supportive parents all help prepare our students to be successful. Springdale won Georgia's Bronze Award three times since 2006 for the highest percentage of students meeting and exceeding standards on the CRCT state assessment.  To win the Bronze award, over 95% of students have to meet or exceed standards on the CRCT for two consecutive years.

We invite you to come by and see for yourself that "Springdale's Eagles are soaring high with excellence." To schedule your personal tour of the school, please call the school office at 478-779-3750. We encourage you to visit with us and see why many families choose Springdale.
