    Star Student 2016-17

    Westside is proud to present our Star Student for 2016-17, Mr. Jacob Mulli.  Pictured here at the BCSD Star Student banquet with his mother Ms. Nancy Midimmo (C), Senior Counselor Ms. Cathy Denson (R), and Principal Dr. Julia Daniely (standing). Jacob Mulli, a dual enrollment student who has a love for mathematics plans to attend Columbia University in the fall and major in Statistics. Jacob selected his AP Calculus teacher, Ms. Avila, as STAR teacher. Ms. Avila currently lives in another city and was not able to attend.

    DECA Diamonds SHINE!

    Westside’s “DECA Diamonds” led by Advisor Ms. Valeria Drummond SHINE at the State Career Development Conference in Atlanta. 

    Among numerous awards were: 10th largest chapter in the State, Go Green Winners Seed Level, Membership Campaign Winners, Chapter Campaign Winners, 3 State 1st Place Winners, Civic Consciousness Project 1st Place. Next stop Anaheim, California for the NATIONAL Convention.

  • CTI Basic Skills Night

    Bibb County’s FIRST ANNUAL CTI Basic Skills Night will be held on Tuesday 2-28-17 6:00 PM @ Westside High.  This will be an interactive session in which students will engage in hands-on activities at various booths in a plethora of careers.   • Teacher of the Month - February 2017

    Westside’s Teacher of the Month for February is Ms. Pilar Wilder Lowden.  She brings her talent and experience in dance and performance to Westside for the benefit and enjoyment of our students.  Featured in a recent article in Macon Magazine, Ms. Wilder Lowden has been a significant influence in the Central Georgia fine arts community for many years!

  • Georgia Parent Survey

    Parents and Guardians are asked to take a brief survey that will be used as part of the calculation of the School Climate Star Rating.  Survey responses are anonymous, and are submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for review.

    The survey can be completed using a personal computer, smartphone, or tablet.  Those without internet access can come by Westside High during normal school hours and a computer will be provided to take the brief survey.

  • Dress for Success

    Dress to Impress

    Starting this Fall each Monday and Wednesday at WHS, students will Dress for Success >< Dress to Impress. This is a requirement for all students who are a part of Athletics, Beta, DECA, FBLA, TSA, National Honor Society, Student Council, Yearbook, Academic Team, Band, Drill Team, Drama, Math Team, SAAB, and Mod Squad. We want ALL students to Dress to Impress as well! Higher expectations for our students!

    Mr. Dominique V. Nichols

     Dominique V. Nichols

    This exemplary educator is a former Westside student who has returned to develop his career as a professional educator.  His academic portfolio includes a Bachelor of Arts in English from Fort Valley State University, followed by a Master of Arts in Teaching at Georgia College and State University.

    His personal leadership and motivational skills have quickly led him to Language Arts Department Chair, Westside’s Leadership Team, as well as organizational and leadership responsibility for many special programs at Westside.  Mr. Nichols maintains high personal standards, as well as high academic standards for his students, as he states “I believe in the capabilities of ALL students and I am persuaded that ALL students can learn.”
