   This semester we will be studying American literature, starting with the Native Americans and continuing through the post-modern era.  In our study we will be preparing for the Georgia High School Graduation Writing Test, which is required for graduation, and the American Literature End-of-Course Test.  I'm looking forward to a great semester and look forward to celebrating your successes along the way. 

 
    Our first unit is entitled "Fears and Persecution."  We will study the Native Americans, followed by the Puritans and then our Founding Fathers.  Each of these groups faced fear and persecution in their changing world and made major contributions to our literary history.
 
     I hope that you will ask me for help.  I am willing to help you learn and to clarify any misunderstandings that you have.  Please let me know when you need additional help so that I can make arrangements to meet with you.
